Jonny Nobleza L.Ac., Dipl. O.M., MAcOM practices East Asian Medicine/Acupuncture, bodywork, and teaches Shadow Yoga in the Bay Area. His studies in yoga and consciousness began over 20 years ago as a young teen. He has since trained and taught various forms of healing arts, music, movement, and cultivation practices. His current focus is a continual deepening relationship with the living wisdom traditions of Yoga, Ayurveda, East Asian Medicine, Osteopathic, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy traditions.
Most notably Jonny is a dedicated practitioner of Shadow Yoga under the guidance of Shandor Remete, Emma Balnaves, Scott Blossom, Matt Pesendian, and Chandra Easton . His practice in the healing arts has been influenced and shaped by select teachers, mentors, family, friends, and colleagues including Dr. Robert Svoboda, T. Koei Kuwahara, and William Morris who have all naturally led through example by their unwavering devotion to their hearts, art, and craft. In gratitude and honor of these teachers and the many who came before them, Jonny dedicates his practice of medicine to be in service and benefit to all beings.
Jonny holds a B.A. in Anthropology and a M.A. in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
The paths of self knowledge, transformation, and healing are unique to every individual. The continual journey of recognizing our possibilities, purpose, and self worth through health and dis-ease is expressed in our relation to nature and the environments of our vast internal and external worlds. It is the ways in which we engage in the quality of all of these relationships that reflect and dictate how we experience health, connection, and vitality. This is wholistic medicine. Through mindful touch and the guidance of medicinal maps passed down through the ages and evolved through practitioners, it is our responsibility not only to help relieve suffering, but also to help one another recognize the infinite well of potential and health that resides in all beings.
Our treatments are based around a framework of Acupuncture and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy; and informed through the sciences of yoga, meditation, Ayurvedic, and Oriental Medicine, as well as modern medicinal bodies of knowledge. Our central orientation is to recognize and attune to the innate intelligences that manifest as health, healing, and organizing principals within every individual. It is from this space that the technical aspects of medicine also become the art of the practice. At Root Source Medicine, every treatment is tailored to the individual's unique needs and may call for a variety of treatment methods. Unlike many other acupuncture practices, we employ gentle hands-on craniosacral treatment for the entire duration after all needles are set. Through mindful contact, deep listening, and guided awareness, the practitioner and patient open to the discovery of healing processes and optimal expressions of health and function in mind, body, and spirit.
Every treatment is geared to be in highest service to our patients. New patients start with an initial intake/consultation and treatment. A variety of tools and methods may be used during each visit including:
- Craniosacral Therapy
- Chinese Herbs and Supplements
- Gua Sha
- Dietary and Lifestyle consulting
- CranioThai Plus* (limited number of 3hr bodywork treatments available each month)
A limited number of discounted rates are available for those in need who can not yet afford the full fees for treatment or are in need of a longer series of treatments. Please email email@example.com for more info.*
Shadow yoga, founded by Shandor Remete, is a hatha yoga system that reintroduces ancient methods to prepare those beginning on the journey of yoga. These preparatory prelude forms utilizes rhythmic breathing, bandhas (energetic ties) and the system of marma (vital junctions) to free the peripheral body of its energetic obstructions and to ignite ones inner fire for healing and meditation. Shadow yoga consists of circular and spiraling movements, warrior stances, and sun salutation forms that prepare students to safely and effectively practice the more advanced limbs of hatha yoga.
